The Wilhelm Lorch Foundation

Logo Wilhelm Lorch Foundation

The Wilhelm Lorch Foundation was established by the shareholders and management of the Deutscher Fachverlag in 1988, on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the Forum der TextilWirtschaft [Forum of TextilWirtschaft]. The foundation is named after the Fachverlag's founder, Wilhelm Lorch, who died in 1966.

The foundation promotes the training and continuing education of young talent from all areas of the textile industry, such as creative, business, marketing, technology, media, communication, Internet, or industry-related services. The foundation awards scholarships and prizes and provides funding for both planned and finished projects from practice, training and science. In addition, the foundation may also provide financial support for institutions, schools and training organisations which are particularly committed to the training of young talent.

Today, the foundation is supported by around 360 patrons and companies from trade and industry, all of whom have contributed to the current endowment fund of approximately 1,6 million Euros. Every year, the foundation makes the interest from this capital available for the promotion of young talent.
